Rules checks for Part 107 and the EASA open category.

Rules checks for flying under Part 107 in the United States and the EASA open category in Europe: the 400 ft altitude limit and its structure exception, the 87 knot groundspeed limit, which open subcategory a drone fits, and impact energy against the published thresholds. It is for remote pilots checking a plan against the rules. Start with the Part 107 altitude tool. Each tool checks one rule; none grants airspace access, and a waiver, a TFR, or controlled airspace can change what you may fly.

  2. In civil twilight and at night the drone needs anti-collision lighting visible for at least 3 statute miles; at night the remote pilot also needs the §107.65 training.
